Gregor Hildebrandt Germany, b. 1974

Gregor Hildebrandt (b. 1974, Bad Homburg, Germany) is known for his distinctive use of cassette tape, vinyl records, and magnetic film as core materials in his paintings, sculptures, and installations. His practice explores the materiality of sound and memory, transforming analog media into visual compositions that reference music, cinema, and literary influences. Through a process of layering, imprinting, and embedding, Hildebrandt creates works that oscillate between Minimalism, Conceptualism, and personal narrative. His work is held in major public and private collections, including the Centre Pompidou, Berlinische Galerie, and Rubell Family Collection. He lives and works in Berlin, where he also runs Grzegorzki Shows, an independent exhibition space.
