In Chrie (2025), Stefan Nikolaev places the image of a burning candle within the enlarged form of a keyhole. The candle is drawn in neon against a painted surface enclosed by hammered copper, bringing emitted light into direct relation with the physical weight and irregularity of the object. The keyhole becomes both frame and opening, suggesting an image that is visible yet partially withheld.
