In Cypriot Head (2025), Florian Tomballe continues his engagement with archaic sculptural traditions through a distinctly personal vocabulary. Carved from pine, the work combines frontal clarity with a deliberate stylisation of facial features. The sculpture does not seek portraiture, but presence. Ancient references are condensed into a contemporary language of volume, rhythm, and reduction.
