Buysse Gallery is proud to present Moon Walk, a duo exhibition featuring the works of Leo Orta (b. 1993, Paris) and Silvia Giordani (b. 1992, Italy), curated by renowned international curator Domenico de Chirico. This marks the first collaboration between the gallery and de Chirico, introducing his curatorial vision to the Belgian art scene.
Moon Walk invites viewers to explore the rich symbolism of the moon, a timeless source of inspiration in art, science, and philosophy. The exhibition examines the celestial body’s influence on human perception, contemplating themes such as transformation, mystery, and the cycle of life.
Leo Orta’s sculptures focus on the hybridization of life, addressing ecological concerns and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Drawing on recycled materials and inspired by psychoanalysis and surrealist techniques, Orta’s works highlight the need for sustainability and a renewed dialogue with nature.
Silvia Giordani’s paintings construct altered landscapes that merge science fiction and reality. Through her exploration of “first sight,” Giordani creates otherworldly environments that challenge the viewer’s understanding of place and time.
Together, Orta and Giordani offer a poetic meditation on the mysteries of the cosmos and the complexities of human existence. Moon Walk is not only a tribute to the moon’s eternal allure but also an invitation to transcend the familiar and embrace the unknown.
