Following his solo exhibition Transience at Art Rotterdam 2025, Belgian artist Tom Van Puyvelde presents Continuum at Delen Private Bank in Waver. This year-long exhibition continues his investigation into ephemerality, material presence, and the painterly process, placing these themes in dialogue with the bank's enduring engagement with Belgian art.
Through a curated selection of works, Van Puyvelde explores the tension between figuration and abstraction. Central paintings, distilled from photographic sources, are paired with monochromatic Residu Composition pieces created from accumulated layers of excess paint-quiet records of the unseen labour of painting. Together, they form a subtle interplay between past and present, process and permanence, echoing Delen's philosophy of care, preservation, and long-term vision.
