Access the viewing room on Artsy

Buysse Gallery is proud to present Echoes of the Earth: The Surreal Landscapes of Silvia Giordani, an online viewing room featuring a curated selection of works by the Venice-based artist. Through her masterful use of acrylic and oil, Giordani transforms natural forms into surreal landscapes that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Her works invite viewers to reflect on themes of time, transformation, and the impermanence of the natural world.

"Giordani's works transcend the physicality of landscapes, transforming them into timeless spaces that echo both the ancient and the imagined."

Silvia Giordani's Echoes of the Earth brings together a series of works that explore the relationship between permanence and transformation within the natural world. Using acrylic and oil on canvas, Giordani layers texture, form, and light to create abstracted landscapes that invite contemplation of existence and impermanence. Drawing from art historical influences, including Georgia O'Keeffe, Giorgio de Chirico, and Yves Tanguy, Giordani's works transcend traditional notions of time and space, offering viewers a gateway into surreal terrains where the organic meets the imagined.

Titan Dunes features a vast desertscape rendered in deep reds and earth tones. The monumental, undulating dunes evoke a sense of timeless stillness and movement, recalling Georgia O'Keeffe's contemplative approach to the desert landscape and its quiet, enduring power.

In The Purple Cloud, Giordani explores a dreamlike landscape of organic rock formations beneath a gradient sky. The interplay between the textured foreground and ethereal background creates a surreal tension, evoking Giorgio de Chirico's metaphysical spaces where nature transforms into a realm of mystery.
