Buysse Gallery is pleased to announce the official representation of Belgian artist Nils Verkaeren. Known for his committed plein air practice and process-driven engagement with landscape, Verkaeren joins the gallery’s program with a distinct approach that positions painting as a negotiation between materiality, movement, and environmental presence.
His work resists static depiction, favouring instead the shifting dynamics of time, weather, and terrain. Over the past years, Verkaeren has developed a language rooted in gesture, erosion, and atmospheric transition—situating his painting not as a finished image but as an open-ended record of lived experience.
We are proud to introduce this new collaboration with the presentation of his latest work, Tidal Flux, which marks a further development in his exploration of painterly tension, physical process, and spatial fluidity.
