Damien Bénéteau, born in 1971 in L'Hay les Roses, France, is a Paris-based artist whose work seamlessly blends light, movement, and minimalism. After starting his career in photography, he transitioned to visual arts in 2010, creating kinetic sculptures that merge mechanical precision with contemplative elegance. Biography

Damien Bénéteau, born in 1971 in L'Hay les Roses, is a leading artist known for his innovative use of light in sculptural practice. Initially trained as a photographer with a BTS in photography (1993), Bénéteau's early career included collaborations with architectural firms and projects for Yann Kersalé. In 1998, he co-founded "Les Cyclopes," a photography collective whose work was featured in prestigious publications and exhibitions. Transitioning to visual arts in 2010, Bénéteau began creating kinetic sculptures that manipulate light, form, and space. Drawing inspiration from minimal sculpture and Op art, his works balance mechanical precision and contemplative simplicity. Exhibited internationally, his notable shows include solo exhibitions at MAD Gallery in Geneva and Taipei and group exhibitions at ToolsGalerie in Paris and Tank Shanghai. More recently, in 2024 Damien Bénéteau started to collaborate with Buysse Gallery in Belgium. His ability to transform space through movement and light has positioned him at the forefront of contemporary art.
